( protects under harsh conditions against corrosion and UV damage)
(news for immediate release from aimarket - August 2005)
A new shrink film
product being introduced, contains anti-corrosion inhibitors as well as UV
protection. ProtectWrap is the name
of the new “outdoor grade” shrink film from Protective Packaging Corporation.
ProtectWrap, an
inflammable product is available in a thickness range of 4 mils to 10 mils. The new material can be
delivered in rolls up to 40 ft wide and 200 ft long for easy application by the
customer. If preferred,. Protective
Packaging Corp personnel can come on site, provide training and/or
apply the material. Larger coverage areas can be protected by overlapping
material and easy bonding with the heat gun; when
heated the two materials will stick to each other, not the product being
wrapped. Easy to apply; wrap the film
around the product, then apply heat to the film. The film shrinks around the
product, cooling to a tight fit. It does not stick to the product and can easily
be removed with scissors or knife. Will not tear even when punctured.
Protective Packaging Corporation’s new shrink film product was conceived for applications requiring outdoor storage or transit of very large pieces of equipment such as planes, tanks, compressors, electrical apparatus, generators, road equipment, cranes, etc. It will keep dust, bugs, and bird droppings off a protected product as well as keep corrosion from happening without becoming brittle and cracking from sun exposure. The manufacturer suggests the product as a more cost-efficient replacement for tarpaulins (which may blow off and do not protect against corrosion).
Protective Packaging Corporation is one of the largest manufacturers of protective packaging in the United States. They can develop and meet special application requirements for protective packaging on short notice as well as deliver from their broad lineup of standard stock products. PPC’s team of packaging engineers is well known as designers and manufacturers of flexible protective packaging for most of the major corporations in the world.
