A versatile, compact new Data Logger, Model IDL 100, being introduced by Gantner Electronics, features 8 analog inputs and 6 digital in/output channels. Each of the analog inputs may be used for acquisition of measurement data of current, voltage, or resistance. Temperature sensors or thermocouples may be directly wired to the Data Logger. If more than 8 analog inputs and 6 digital I/O's are required, the RS-485 interface allows the connection of more series ISM 100 sensor modules(up to 60 external channels). Data may be stored in the internal, buffered RAM ( 256 KB ) or in an optional PCMCIA memory card (up to 10 MB).

Readout of data may be performed via the serial RS-232 interface or via wire, radio, GSM or telephone modem. Necessary companion software and hardware tools for data transfer via the internet or intranets are available from Gantner Electronics. ICP100 is a user-friendly configuration 32-bit software for Windows® 95 or NT®. With this companion software, all modules of the series 100 (ISM 110-112, IDM118 and the Data Logger IDL 100) can be configured and tailored to the exact required function. Gantner's new Data Logger, Model IDL 100, was conceived to fill diverse applications in recording and reporting concerning, remote environmental, agricultural, weather, hostile industrial processes (chemical plants, steel mills, pulp, paper, plating, finishing, baking, cooking, etc.), wherever data must be acquired, logged and reported in an accurate, orderly and timely fashion on an ongoing basis.
